Congressman

Cynthia Lummis

Representing Wyoming

Job creation continues to be a very important focus of mine as I serve as Wyoming’s representative in Congress. I am asking for your help to identify Washington regulations and mandates that are hindering the growth of your business.

A September 2010 Small Business Administration report concluded that federal regulations cost U.S. businesses $1.75 trillion each year: that is $8,086 per employee (in 2008), with small businesses facing an even higher average burden. Add the 43 new major federal regulations promulgated in fiscal year 2010 and hundreds of new minor federal regulations and the path to economic revitalization is filled with barriers.

With American business creation at a seventeen year low and the country’s unemployment rate remaining above eight percent, Washington must remove the hurdles that are stifling America’s business climate.

I am counting on you to help identify government regulations that act as roadblocks for your business’ success.  To submit your response, click here. I look forward to your submission. With your feedback, Congress can get about the work of cutting needless, job-killing red tape to let you do what you do best -- putting millions of our fellow Americans back to work.
