MEDIA ADVISORY: Congressional Badge of Bravery to be Awarded to Family of Fallen Officer Bryan Gross
Wyoming officials join to recognize and remember a hero February 19th at the Wyoming State Capitol

The US Department of Justice and Wyoming will come together to honor the life of a hero. The family of fallen Converse County Sheriff’s Deputy Bryan Gross will be presented with the Congressional Badge of Bravery. Deputy Gross lost his life in the summer of 2011 while saving a teenage girl from the North Platte River. The young woman was pulled to safety.
The Congressional Badge of Bravery is an honor reserved for the most exceptional acts of bravery undergone in the line of duty. Deputy Gross’ heroic act was recognized by US Attorney General Eric Holder. Deputy Gross is survived by his wife Amy Gross, mother Cindy Allen, father Phillip Gross and sister Brina Loya, who will be accepting the honor in his place.
The event will take place on February 19th in the Wyoming Capitol Rotunda at 11:00 am and is open to the public. Wyoming officials attending include Governor Matt Mead, US Senators Mike Enzi and John Barrasso, US Representative Cynthia Lummis and US District Attorney Kip Crofts.
