House Passes Continuing Resolution: Legislation Funds the Government through Fiscal Year 2013.
Congressman Lummis votes in favor of the sequester-modified appropriations legislation.
Washington,
Mar 6 -
Wednesday the U.S. House passed H.R. 933, the Department of Defense, Military Construction and Veteran Affairs, and Full-Year Continuing Appropriations Act of 2013.
The continuing resolution funds the federal government for the remainder of this fiscal year ending on September 30, 2013. With current funding set to expire on March 27, 2013, the legislation ensures the continued operation of the federal government. H.R. 933 provides full year appropriations for military construction and the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs as well as funding for other government operations. The continuing resolution maintains sequester levels of funding, bringing non-emergency discretionary spending to approximately $984 billion.
U.S. Representative Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo), who voted in support of the continuing resolution, issued the following statement:
“Today’s vote marks a step in the right direction in addressing our nation’s fiscal situation. This bill keeps our government running and maintains a lower level of spending. Importantly, this legislation ensures our nation’s veterans receive the care they deserve and provides our nation’s military with greater flexibility to appropriately allocate its resources. ”
